Stoketoberfest Oktoberfest Camping

Positive Erfahrung: fun place lots of drinks, but not very worth imo - the 8 pax tent is squeezy, sleeping bag smelled funky like vomit and was thin. no live dj, people were so noisy at night till 430am - could hardly sleep staff are very nice n friendly, breakfast was fresh and good (but not free flow at all which was stated n you could only take one serving..)

Negative Erfahrung: Booked a few nights here due to the reviews given, when arrived staff was friendly and welcoming. The actual campsite is well laid out. Tents are cramped, sleeping bags very tight and mat is paper thin, no sleep at all due to sleeping accommodation. Breakfast wasn’t that great and was difficult to get a non-alcoholic drink with breakfast. We were advised we could possibly have an upgrade the following morning of our arrival, when we checked it was going to be an extra €240 euros to upgrade from 2x2 men tents to a larger 4 man tent with inflatable mattresses. Wouldn’t of minded if it was just a few euros but not €240.00 for 2 nights left of our stay. No live DJ’s as stated and not much of a party atmosphere.

Negative Erfahrung: Stay away from this place. Complete nightmare and don't be fooled by website photos. It's an absolute dump and unsafe. We had our tent belongs rummaged through, people urinating on your tent and staff not interested. In fact good luck finding staff not wasted. We left after first night at huge cost. Mega events are promoters and Stoke travel site management. Neither could care less and just want your cash. Site should be closed down

Negative Erfahrung: Very mixed feelings about the place tbh. The tents were very uncomfortable to start. The breakfast was rough and not what was needed after drinking all day. The campsite is a 30-40 minute drive to the center of Oktoberfest. On photos on google, the main area seemed to be booming but even on a night it was at most quarter capacity. However- that doesn’t stop you making friends when drunk. On a positive all the staff were friendly considering they aren’t getting paid. I did have so really fun times here but overall, I probably wouldn’t return unless I brought my own camping equipment.

Negative Erfahrung: I'd start this review by saying the staff here are genuinely really nice, they are volunteering and I got on with alot of them well. However as an experience goes, I do believe it can be deemed over priced; 65 euros for 2 roll mats in a double skin 2 man tent in late September to early October doesn't bode too well if I'm honest. One could rather easily get a bed in one of the hostels for as cheap as £30 (roughly 37 euros or so). So my first quarm is price. Unlimited drinking pass was certainly a winner, but again if your at the main tents of Oktoberfest, you will be drinking there right? So this unlimited drinking wasn't necessarily the biggest steal for me. Location was alright, pretty close by when you get the public transport to the festival, easy to find and staff will happily help you find it. Staff service was good, they were always happy to help and would join the party at the end, the volunteers definitely deserve appreciation for what they do, but the service can only be as good as the standard in the end, and the standard of camping (as an avid festival goer and traveller), I expect better for the price. Big shout out to the volunteers, you guys are awesome, for stoke company, I'd suggest better standards for what you sell.

Negative Erfahrung: Absolutely disgusting. The tents were marked as “sanitised” and upon opening the tent, there was fresh vomit on the sleeping bag and a used toothbrush inside. The “air mattress” was a thin yoga mat. We were greeted with a beer, poured into a cup that had sand in it (clearly not washed). There was human poo on all of the shower curtains, water was freezing cold. The toilets had vomit all over them and were probably cleaned once over the 3 days there. We paid extra for the unlimited drinks, which only included beer since they ran out of tea, coffee, juice and sangria. Also super loud at all hours of the day. Don’t waste your money on this experience, not worth the headache. Also takes around an hour to get to the Oktoberfest festival grounds, two busses and a train. Positives: bacon and egg rolls in the morning were tasty and fresh.

Negative Erfahrung: On nous vend du rêve mais on passe vite au cauchemar à l'arrivée. Des tentes deux places qui ne devraient accueillir qu'une seule personne tellement elles sont étroites, des sanitaires très sales. Les "matelas" fournis sont dignes d'une blague, ce sont des tapis de sol. Les duvets qui les accompagnent sont sales et sentent extrêmement mauvais, leur passage en machine est payant sur place. Concernant l'ambiance, oui en étant bourré à 9h du matin (comme 80% des (très) jeunes qui viennent ici) la journée se passe relativement bien. Si nous voulons juste passer la soirée, c'est 15€ pour alcool à volonté, sinon c'est 5 à 6€ le verre. L'ambiance musicale est très moyenne... Sur un weekend de trois jours, il y a eu 3 artistes de 19h à 22h (fin de la musique), présents tous les soirs, avec un ordre de passage différent. C'est un peu prendre les gens pour des idiots, vu les tarifs abusifs que vous pratiquez. Deux points positifs à noter : le bus qui passe juste devant et à toute heure, et qui permet de fuir cet endroit, et le petit déjeuner avec un hamburger protéiné qui aide à tenir l'alcool pour la journée.

Negative Erfahrung: Arrived on site and was greeted with a beer, and then we were escorted to our tents. The tents smelled so bad that I had to spray deodorant in to lift the smell. The sleeping bag was paper thin along with the roll mat. Was freezing during the night and realised I was sleeping on a rock. Security was on a power trip, especially the oldish woman. The toilets and showers block was hazardous, and even some of the security said to stay away it was that bad. The plus side to this site is the unlimited beer. The spinning wheel game was knackered and only landed on number 2, which was to drink from your boot. You'd think all this money poured into this you'd have a decent wheel that worked. My advice - get a hotel near the beer festival itself and experience it and you'll have more fun and safer experience. Oktoberfest itself in Munich was an absolutely fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend getting yourself into the halls as the atmosphere was incredible.

Negative Erfahrung: Staff were half cut when we arrived, zero communication from them about how the site is run, the cups, tokens etc none of this was explained to us we were just escorted to various areas of the site by a staff member who could barely string a sentence together let alone find our pitch. The tents are not built for 2 adult men. A standard issue roll mat was too long. Don't get me started on breakfast, described online as a "hearty breakfast" they neglected to mention it was merely a breakfast for an Ethiopian child. Don't believe the good reviews. We were bribed to leave 5 stars, and I refused.

Positive Erfahrung: A fun time but know what you're getting yourself into... It's tents and everything that comes along with camping... nasty bathrooms, no sleep, all of your things unsecured, etc. Combine all that with a loud party ground that turns the music on at 8am sharp and it's an interesting experience. The attached picture is a TWO person tent, and if you're on your own you get a random. Unlimited beer, but it's warm unrefrigerated bottles. Also ends at 11pm, and then they start charging you. Lots of advertised points on the website simply just don't exist as well. Very far from Oktoberfest. You have to take a bus and 1-2 trains. Google maps says 45 min but in practice it's over an hour. Not ideal when drunk. Nowhere to get food... My friends and I basically didn't eat the whole time. They make breakfast and you can get some food at the main Oktoberfest grounds, but other than that your options are basically nothing. Finally, I really think it would be better if they organized some group things, such as bringing groups to Oktoberfest together, maybe reserving tables, or anything. It's easy enough to make friends on your own in the campground, but such a missed opportunity in my opinion.

Negative Erfahrung: Je ne conseillerais pas cet endroit. Les tentes et sacs de couchage avaient une drôle dès notre arrivé, beaucoup trop petite pour 2 personnes, de plus les tentes étaient situés près d'une route avec du trafic, il était compliqué de pouvoir dormir un minimum. Le staff était sympa mais sans plus, ils ne nous ont pas vraiment conseillé ou très peu sur l'oktoberfeest. L'ambiance le soir était encore assez sympa, mais cela ne vaut pas le prix qui est proposé.

Fantastische Erfahrung: From the well bearded man in the red jumpsuit who welcomed me to the bartender who made sure my cup was never empty, Stoke made sure it was the best Otkberfest I've ever had. A quick ride to the city to day drink at Oktoberfest, then continuing the party at the Stoke grounds with live music and seemingly infinite drinks was my weekend, and I wish i had stayed longer. I'll see you all next year!
