Fantastische Erfahrung: Great customer service. Love to see them going new and more adventurous places.

Negative Erfahrung: The trip to Strasbourg felt overly expensive for just a bus ride. The €99 tour included a two-hour bus ride to Strasbourg and another two hours back, with no guided tour at all. Our guide simply transported us there and dropped us off. This experience does not justify a €99 price tag.

Fantastische Erfahrung: I had a wonderful trip today on November 2nd, 2024! I went on the Metz/Luxembourg trip and had a great time with a wonderful group of people and a very knowledgeable and kind tour guide! He really took us on some nice tours and gave us lots of knowledge on the different locations of both countries! We got enough free time that they could spare us so that was much appreciated. Our bus driver drove like a champ and was very nice as well. This was my first RTT trip and these factors alone have pushed me to book more trips with this company!

Negative Erfahrung: What do they do there? I guess they do not want business? I called them to set up travel arrangements...They did absolutely NOTHING for me, but listen. Me: "I want to arrange a tour to Neuschwanstein Castle two weeks from now. 3 adults are in Poznan Poland and 1 adult in Kaiserslautern. I need plane tickets to Munich, rental car, and hotel reservation, with tour tickets at the castle." RTT Rep: "Ok, what you are going to do is find a hotel in the area, reserve the dates you want. Then we recommend Hertz for your car rental, go to their website, and reserve the car you want with the dates. Then you're going to go to Lufthansa or LOT airlines website, and reserve your plane tickets. Make sure you use the English version so it's easy to read, unless you can read German or Polish. Last, you are going to go to the Neuschwanstein Castle website and purchase your tickets with your credit card. You have to do all this in advance." Me: "Umm, ok, so you're telling me to go do all this on my own? Can you get me military discount rates on any of these four areas?" Rep: "Yes, go and do it. You will get better rates if you do it on your own." Me: "Umm, ok. Thank you for listening to me." Ok, bye bye.... bye bye..

Fantastische Erfahrung: Strasbourg,France Christmas market trip with Steffani.

Positive Erfahrung: Ok. Up front...the trip to Egypt was awesome! Highly encourage the opportunity to go. Even with the other events in CENTCOM, it was safe and calm. That said.... expectation management is a must. The hotel in Cairo is a 3 star at best but still a good stay. The pace of the tours are good but the guide (Sam) also had shopping stops included which were niche (rug making, perfumes, alabaster, jewelry, and spices) but not cheap. The group looked but it was hit or miss on buying....it came off as a tour guide inside deal that he gets a kick back on. Expect to be hassled a lot...and I mean a lot. You will be hit up to pay for all sorts of things like "tipping" the random person in the bathroom for handing you the paper towel you would have gotten yourself, as an example. Read all the RTT info and prepare. Our guide in Egypt stated that his tip was NOT included even though the RTT info specifically stated it was. Further follow up confirmed that the tip was already included....you can always choose to give more if they do well but our guide purposely lied about the tip and handed out envelopes for money. Know what is covered and not...make your own call. Recommendations: Use Euro and not Egyption lbs. .they will take Euro, US dollar, or Egyptian lbs. The hotel will not exchange currency nor take coins. Have coins at the ready while on tours. Makes small purchases easier and not show larger bills. Don't encourage peddlers unless you intend to buy...it will become frustrating. Take your own toilet paper...it is not always available. Ensure you wear sunscreen... especially on the upper deck of the boat. Ensure you carry water with you. There will be water available at most places but not all. Bottom line: Great trip and one you should consider. Just do your research and manage expectations...will make the trip more enjoyable.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Beth was wonderful in answering my questions. She was very knowledgeable and helped me understand the process of this latest Croatia trip which was great. I was very impressed with her and the whole RTT team. Just from signing up and the help and information I received in the process before the trip earns RTT 5-Stars in my book. Carl the bus driver was exceptional also. He was super friendly and professional. Everyone on the chat line at RTT was very helpful. All of the phone agents clearly explained my options and helped me make the best choice for my trip. I highly recommend RTT!

Fantastische Erfahrung: We booked the February Arctic Adventure to Sweden and had a blast. The hotel in Sweden was nice. We didn’t stay in the igloo because I didn’t want to sleep on a cold block of ice but the Iglootel tour was cool. We booked the snowmobile tour and that was my favorite part. You get to go in the middle of a giant lake and do a free ride as fast as you want. Worth every penny. We also did the reindeer feeding. I loved the reindeer but the tour itself didn’t feel worth the price. We didn’t see any northern lights on our trip because it was too cloudy so don’t expect northern lights. The hotel breakfast was good but we didn’t eat dinner there. The town has affordable food options. The Frankfurt Hahn airport was a mess so prepare to go at least 3+ hours early and expect to wait at least an hour to get your luggage on the way back. We had a hard time finding the Fly Car check in desk at Frankfurt Hahn. It wasn’t at the FlyCar desk but at the RyanAir desks #21 and we only found it because it was a paper sign saying “Arvidsjaur.” We used the transfer bus from Ramstein and that was nice. The bus has a list of names so it will try to wait for you.

Negative Erfahrung: The worst online customer ever. Please don’t even try booking with them cause they don’t even check.

Positive Erfahrung: Decent travel company that offers a variety of tours. The local tour guides provided at certain destinations are knowledgeable and informative about the areas they cover during the tour. I highly recommend going on a few trips, then set out on your own once you are comfortable.

Negative Erfahrung: Review of RTT Group travel. Pros: -Cheap -Straightforward if you are not looking to work with local tour groups -Accommodations were good, solid 3 star Cons: -For multi-day trips, and presumably to keep prices low, RTT does early departures (0400) and late returns, this means you will be exhausted for your first day there which really sets the mood for the rest of the trip -For our trip, there was preferential treatment of the tour coordinators friends, this was in spite of our reservations and seat assignments made. It took aggressive push back and demands for a refund for this to be overcome and again, not a great way to start a trip in the early hours of the morning. - For almost all trips, You are traveling by bus (again, to keep costs low), the bus is not terribly comfortable and while it does make frequent stops, there is no bathroom aboard. It does have USB chargers (not USB-C). In summary: RTT group travel is a good cheap option but what you save in dollars is at the expense of time at the location and sleep.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Simple and easy to use. If booking multiple trips and using google you may have to close your browser after each trip, the form for submitting sometimes keeps thinking you’re completing the same trip again. Submit the trip, call the number, pay. Perfect. Make sure if you preference a seat you put it in your form or let them know on the phone as the reserve a specific seat. Lots of places to go and to see. Many trips leave really early, but that’s to maximize your time there. Recommend for people that don’t like to plan, like me.

Negative Erfahrung: Do not recommend booking with these people. I attempted to go on a trip with them for the first time. Unfortunately when I arrived, the tour guide was rude and unwilling to listen to me at all. She yelled that I was not on the guest list and kicked me off the trip before I even got to step onto the bus and tell her my side of the situation. Very disrespectful.... especially to a servicemember on base. Probably will be the last time I ever try to book with them.

Negative Erfahrung: In regards to canceling trips due to inclimate weather, they can do a MUCH better job of communicating with customers. Telling everyone 20 minutes before departure on FB when road conditions were already identified as dangerous nearly two hours prior to trip departure is unacceptable. No way were busses going to be able and travel normal highway speeds to the designated destination. They really need to communicate better (or have an emergency POC available customers can contact) other than having people drive out to Ramstein and tell them after driving for almost an hour the trip is canceled. (*added after response from RTT: Here is a screenshot from when RTT posted to social media (was 20 minutes before trip departure of 0100. You can see the time on my phone when I took the screen shot of 0039). I also checked their website one hour prior to departure and their was nothing stating this trip was canceled. My point stands, RTT needs to do a better job at tracking the weather and contacting their clients of such cancelation. 20 minutes prior to a trip is not a good job when road conditions are a factor.

Fantastische Erfahrung: I love using RTT. They've helped me purchase flights for my family, I've been on some of their organized trips, and they've helped me plan my own vacations. Their customer service has always been amazing. They politely answer all of my questions...which is a lot. Highly recommend if you want travel assistance.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Their email replies are very fast for airfare quotes. They beat prices by a lot…I’ve used them many times and it’s always went perfectly. As far as trips go… there are so many places in Europe that I would have never been comfortable driving to on my own. RTT has made it possible for me to see so many places and took the hard part of navigating, parking (always an issue in Europe, especially with an SUV) and booking and handled it themselves. Also their tour guides are absolutely wonderful. Don’t ever let the price deter you on an RTT trip it is worth every penny.

Negative Erfahrung: Once trip is paid you receive final confirmation and don’t hear from them again. They use other tour companies for their trips. The tour guide makes it or breaks it. When half the time the small talk with others on the tour is about how rude or inappropriate the guide is, takes away from what should be this amazing experience. Felt super rushed on the Classic Italy tour. They squeezed too much in for the 6 days. Never really was able to take in everything since we had to be back on the bus for the next sight. The hotels were not 3-4 stars like advertised more like 1-2.5. Tour guide constantly providing explanations about the conditions (closer to sights for next day/ Usual hotel was booked/ its only for one night...etc) This particular tour was provided by Horizon Tours so do your home work.

Positive Erfahrung: We did the RTT Italy tour, the guide was great and had a lot of knowledge but here is a little advice, on the extras: We did not do the (gondola ride extra cost), but the ones that did said it was not worth it. The (Tuscany dinner extra cost) was ok if you like to drink a lot of wine, the music/singer was good too otherwise the mosquitoes were bad and the wait staff kept dropping food like they had a little too much wine as well. The (Pizza in Sorrento extra cost) was the worst of all the extra cost meals, the guide built it up, that it was the best he ever had, so the bar was set too high maybe as high as his kickback. The sauce was so runny the cheese was not cooked right and the bread was tough. We had a family of four and they were all the same. The (sandwiches in Pisa Extra cost) they were not that great, this was judged across 4 different sandwiches, and there is a McDonald’s right at the entrance to the leaning tower that would have been better, so go there. The (Pompeii extra cost) was worth it and may have been the best part of the trip right after the city tour of Rome. The (Dinner in Rome Extra cost) we did not do this one and did not hear anything about it the next day, sorry no help here. We would do this trip again in a few years if we got the same tour guide (Andreas) and did not do any of extras except for Pompeii.

Positive Erfahrung: Friendly travel agents that offer a myriad of tours, mostly by bus. I have taken 2 trips with them now and both were great experiences. If you want a no-fuss, someone else plan and drive vacation, these folks will help you out. The downside - They have a terrible exchange rate compared to the rest of the stores/kiosks around the mall. Be careful to check how much the tour is in USD using their exchange rate. Additionally, not all tours were created equal so buyer beware. Not a knock against the service, which is admittedly good, just know that some tours squeeze in more activities and seem to be better deals. Make sure to look at the itinerary for any trips to see if you are truly paying for a tour or just paying for a bus ride.

Fantastische Erfahrung: Going on my 4th rtt trip soon.. I always forget my pillow.. they have drinks, and mineral water, beer to sell, but if you prefer "Wasser no gas".. bring it.. 3 bottles per person to keep from getting dehydrated on the day trips.. I love RTT.. safe..with 2 drivers..
